The grand total raised for charity through our Christmas collections was £3,502.71. This includes all the open collections at our special Christmas services including school services and donations from schools, and cheques from individual members of the congregation. The total this year is divided between St Mungo’s for the homeless and Kingston Hospital’s “Born Too Soon” for premature babies and their families.
In addition the cards on the Christmas tree raised £190 for the Church Urban Fund.
Thank you to everyone for your generosity.

After the success of the Traidcraft Stall on 27 November, it will be back on Sunday 11 December after the 10 am service, selling all kinds of Christmas gifts and a selection of its regular foodstuffs and household goods.
While it is good to buy fair-trade in supermarkets, there is an added bonus if you buy goods through Traidcraft: supermarkets and the like have massive “bulk-buy” arrangements so can work only with established producers. Traidcraft helps new producers to get established so they can then supply their goods to mainstream retailers. Also Traidcraft encourages new products to come on line – you will now find fair-trade rubber gloves in the catalogue!
Traidcraft is one of the founders of Fair-trade, which helps producers in developing countries to support themselves by ensuring proper prices, local sustainability and decent working conditions.
Our Toy Service on 27 November was a tremendous success, with a record number of toys donated. They have been sent to Welcare, a charity that does tremendous work helping local families, who will sort them and make each one a child’s … Continue reading
The Church of England is in a funny position in our society. While not many turn up in church on a given Sunday, there is strong positive interest in its debates, sadly all too often over sexual matters like homosexuality, … Continue reading
Welcome to the new website! We hope that it helps you get a picture of St Anne’s and is a source of useful information. As an electronic old fogey I have been surprised by how much effort was involved in setting … Continue reading
Highlights from our Pepperpost Newsletter June 2011… The weatherman promised sun and heavy showers, and just sometimes the weatherman is right! But everyone was well prepared, and the St Anne’s Church and School Summer Fair was its customary triumph despite … Continue reading
